Tiny Treasures

Aug 16: Pat is going to a baby shower for 2 folks at work tomorrow. Pat and Mom were out shopping on Sunday (I had to stay home) for some really cute baby clothes, they did pick up some cards, but to tell the truth they didn’t think they were worth the $8.00 (that would buy a lot of cookies) and Pat likes Mom’s handmade cards, she thinks it adds a personal touch to any gift.

I’m just to tired to go to Mom’s studio today, so I think I will just stay downstairs and guard the house! Mom was upstairs awhile this morning and I was sure glad when she finally came downstairs and kept me company (I love sitting on her lap).

Mom elected to keep it simple. She made little 3x3 gift cards to go along with Pat’s shower gifts.

Mom used a cute little Giraffe stamp from Hero Arts for both cards. Can you tell one is for a boy and the other is for a girl!

Because they are colored with Copics, Mom used Momento Black Tuxedo ink stamped on Neenah paper. Once Mom finished coloring the Giraffe she used a Scrapy Land nesting die called Wavy Squares to cut out the image. After embossing the cut out, Mom used Foam tape to pop it up on the card.

Oh, I almost forgot, the ‘congratulations’ sentiment is a rub-on from Pebbles. The Copics Mom used were: Y02, Y00, Y28 and RV34 (and a green for the grass – she forgot to tell me the number)

Hope you liked Mom’s little gift card.

Take care.

Pink and Green Challenge

I followed Mom upstairs this morning and kept her company while she made a card for the Stampy Land Pink and Green challenge. We haven’t been in the studio in awhile, but that’s okay.

Karen_TF_PinkandGreen

Let me tell you about this card, she used one of the Clear Stamp Sets from Lawn Fawn Cruising Through Life. Mom used her Copic Ciao markers to color the bicycle and Flower Soft for flowers in the basket to add some texture to the card. For some  fun sparkle she used a Black Atyou Spica pen for the seat and handles.

I reminded Mom to write down the colors she used on the card: Rv95, E31, E33, C1, C3, C5

Mom broke out Glossy Accents and covered all the pink areas of the bicycle, although not sure it shows up that well in the photo (remember you can double-click on the picture to make it larger you may be able to see it).

Well that’s all from the Luv2Cr8 studio today. Check back, Mom is helping Pat out. Pat needs 2 baby shower cards.

Take care.

Having Fun in the Sun

August 3: My job when Mom is in the pool is to be the guard dog. Mom counts on me to keep her safe while she walks in the pool and does a little swimming.

Don’t I look like a good guard! Mom trusts me to do a great job! (I’m sure Mom will scrap this picture of me!) We do try to swim early in the day before it gets to hot for us both.

Take care.

Mom did it Again!

August 2 – Sorry I have been absent for a really long time, but I’m back now.

Mom’s term as a member of the Scrapy Land Design Team 2 was up on July 31st. The great news is that she has been selected to be a part of the new arm of the Scrapy Land Design Team call “The Few”. This arm of the Design Team has 5 other very talented scrappers that Mom will be working with. Mom tells me  she is looking for her 6 month term. Mom was thrilled for her friend Gail, who made the Scrapy Land Design Team 3.

Over the past year Mom and I have spent some fun time in her Studio. Pat put together shelves for storage of all Mom’s stuff! She helped Mom put up magnetic sheets to store the cookie cutter dies from Lifestyle Crafts and Spellbinders. All this sure helped Mom in organizing her Studio. Which made it really nice to have Mom’s friend Marnie play with us in the Studio!

This is a view from Mom’s desk – Pat set the table up to be Marnie’s work space. It turned out to be a great work space and Marnie was comfortable enough to go upstairs and play anytime she wanted. Marnie took this picture with her new Sony Cyber Shot camera that can take panorama shots! Mom thinks she may keep the table up for her friend Gail to come and play with her.

I will be back soon to share Mom’s entries with you and more pictures of Mom’s Studio.

Take care.

Ladies and Gentlemen … Announcing

Aug 16:

the newest member of the Scrapy Land Design team. The official announcement was made by Susan on the Scrapy Land blog.

Mom spent quite a bit of time in her ‘clean and organized’ scrap room, with me guarding the house downstairs working on her submissions. She seemed to really enjoy doing the 3 projects. Her page was one with a picture of Sophia when Mom and Pat took her to have pictures taken at Portraits Innovation in Burlington.

Mom has never added a stamped image to her page, so she challenged herself to add a stamped image to the the page and only use one picture on the layout.

Next, mom worked on a little Thank You card.

I think she had some fun with textures and paper and then touched it off with using Sookwang (or ScorePal) tape and Kiwi Glitter, that she did something called burnishing. All I know is that I found a scrap of paper that Mom didn’t seem to want me to have, but was happy I found it for her. When Pat came home she wondered what the sparkly stuff on my nose was.

Mom’s last submission was a Trinket box that is topped with an easel card. I was hoping there was a cookie in one of the drawers for me, but sadly no.

I have spent some time with Mom in her studio as she is still so excited, working on projects that will be published on the Scrapy Land blog. So come along with me as I keep you up to date with Mom’s and my journey over the next several months.

Take care
